The primary goal of the respiratory therapist is to help a patient improve his/her ability to breathe comfortably,
through a variety of medications, extensive equipment and through training or education of patient. They determine how severe
the patient's breathing problems are and work with the healthcare providers to provide therapy to help increase oxygen
levels for the patient. They treat people with pneumonia, asthma, COPD, congestive heart failure and other medical
conditions that affect breathing. The respiratory therapist will be responsible for the medical
treatment for patients in the outpatient clinics, emergency room, and those admitted to the hospital.
