About Us
The Choctaw Health Center has served the healthcare needs of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians since its inception in 1920. This dedication to health culminated in the opening of a modem 180,000-square-foot facility in 2015, designed to serve the evolving needs of over 11,000 plus tribal members. Offering a tobacco-free campus, the center underscores its commitment to the health and well-being of all individuals on its premises.
The center's achievement of accreditation from DNV highlights its adherence to stringent patient safety and care quality standards, requiring compliance with both national and international benchmarks alongside regular reviews.
The facility boasts 43 specialized departments, addressing a broad spectrum of healthcare requirements, and features a hellpad to enhance emergency service efficiency. It also includes a healing gronnd, emphasizing the importance of cultural and spiritual aspects in healing, indicative of a holistic healthcare approach.
Further promoting health and wellness, a 0.8-mile figure-eight walking trail on the center's grounds encourages physical activity among tribal members and staff, in alignment with the center's vision for a healthier community. This reflects a comprehensive, innovative approach to healthcare.
