About

The Dental Department comprises four clinics, with the main clinic situated at the Choctaw Health Center and equipped with 28 dental chairs. Additionally, satellie Dental Clinics are positioned in Bogue Chitto, Conehatta, and Red Water. This department plays a crucial role in healthcare organizations by offering a comprehensive array of oral health care services to both adult and pediatric patients. Its responsibilities encompass the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of dental diseases and disorders, as well as the provision of patient education aimed at promoting optimal oral health maintenance.

Our Services

Preventive Services

The department provides preventive services such as dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants to prevent dental diseases.

Diagnostic Services

The department diagnoses dental diseases and disorders using X-rays, examinations, and other diagnostic tools.

Restorative Service

The department provides restorative services such as fillings, crowns, and bridges to restore damaged or missing teeth. Removable prosthetic services which include restoring a patient's functional occlusion with partial and/or complete dentures.

Endodontic Service

The department provides endodontic services such as root canal therapy to treat infections or inflammation of the dental pulp.

Periodontic Service

The department provides periodontic services such as scaling and root planning to treat gum diseases.

Oral Surgery Service

The department provides oral surgery services such as tooth extractions.

Patient Education

The department educates patients on oral health care practices and provides guidance on maintaining good oral health.

Walk-In Services

Patients aged two and under can be seen as a walk in. 7:30 am -10:30 am, Monday - Thursday only

Emergency Care

Patients will be seen in the order that they signed up. Depending on the treatments of the scheduled patients for the day.

Patients must sign in from 7:15 am - 10:00 am and will be seen on a first come, first serve basis. For after hours emergency care, please go to the Emergency Room.

  • Severe pain that started within the past 2 - 3 days
  • Severe pain that keeps the patient awake at night
  • Swelling in the face due to an abscessed tooth
  • Fever due to an abscessed tooth
  • Excessive bleeding from a recent extraction site
  • Teeth that have recently been knocked out, displaced or broken in an accident
  • facial injury with possible maxillary or mandibular fracture

Dental Appointment Policies

First Appointment

  • A patient must be reg-istered for care at Choctaw Health Center
  • Informed of the Dental program's failed appointment policy. Each patient must sign the policy in acknowledgement. Once signed, the signed policy will be placed in the patient's dental record.
  • A health questionnaire will need to be completed every year.

Scheduled Appointment

  • Patients aged 3 and over must have a scheduled appointment.
  • Appointments begin at 9:00 am and run until 3:00 pm.
  • Appointments will not be scheduled more than six weeks in advance.
  • Patients need to arrive at the clinic 15 minutes early to allow for Patient Registration Process.

Cancel Appointment

  • Patient must notify the CHC Dental 24 hours in advance if they are unable to keep their appointment.
  • Appointments can be rescheduled for a later date.
  • Habitual canceling of scheduled appointments will result in emergency care only for a period of three months.

Late Appointment

In order for us to provide timely. attentive service to everyone. we expect you to be on time for scheduled appointments.

  • Patients should arrive within 20 minutes before their scheduled appointment times to provide insurance. update their demographic information and dental questionnaire.
  • Patients are considered late if they arrive 10 minutes after the appointment time.

Failed Appointment

Missed appointments will affect our ability to care for you. When you do not keep an appointment, it prevents us from giving care to another patient who needs our services. If you do not show up for several appointments without canceling, you will not be rescheduled for routine care for at least three months.

  • Patient does not show up for scheduled appointment.
  • Patients arrive more than ten minutes late for scheduled appointment.
  • Failed to reschedule appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
  • atient who falls two appointments will still be eligible for emergency care.
