The purpose of a pharmacy is to provide patients with access to safe and effective medication and to ensure that they are used appropriately. Pharmacists are responsible for dispensing prescription medications, advising patients on how to use them, and monitoring for potential drug interactions or other issues that may arise. Pharmacists work closely with healthcare providers to ensure that patients receive the correct medication, dosage, and duration of treatment.

Medications are filled and delivered by a Community Health Technician.

Acute care medications are filled at one of the three locations.

3. Is a Pharmacist available to answer medication questions?
Yes. You may ask to speak with one or choose pharmacist consultation when picking up your medication. Our pharmacist will provide you with a comprehensive overview of your medications, including dosage, administration, and side effects, to ensure that you have a complete understanding of what you are taking.
4. How do I place a prescription order?
Your provider can send an escript to our Choctaw Health Center Pharmacy.
5. When should you place your refill order?
We recommend you place your refill orders three days in advance on a weekday to enable us to order our medication and ensure that you receive your medication without delay.
6. Can you receive text message alerts for medication pick up?
Yes. Our B-Script system will send you a text message when your medications are ready for pick up.
7. Is there an app where we can order our medication refills?
Yes. You may download the application and sign up for it. Click the buttons below.
8. How long will I have to wait to have my prescription filled?
Our Pharmacy will fill the prescription within 30 minutes, but due to the workload, this may not always be possible. To avoid delays, you can call ahead so your prescription can be ready to be picked up.
9. Can pedestrians be served in the Pharmacy Drive-Thru?
For your safety, Choctaw Health Center Pharmacy cannot serve pedestrians or walkers in the drive-thru line. We will assist you inside the Pharmacy Department.
10. I know what to ask my doctor, but what kinds of things should I be asking my pharmacist?
- What is this medication designed to do to me?
- How will it function in my body?
- Who should or should not be using this drug?
- How will my use of this medication be monitored?
- When do I start taking them?
- When do I stop taking them?
11. How do I dispose of my medications?
There is a medication drop-off located in our Pharmacy Department lobby. You may dispose of old medications there. Use the supplied return package to place your medication in. Liquids are to be placed in a seal container before placing in the return package.
12. What do I do if I experience an adverse reaction?
Please never hesitate to reach out to Choctaw Health Center Emergency Room at any time if you experience a reaction to your medication that is concerning. Our pharmacists can help you manage side effects. Depending on the severity of the reaction, you should always call 911.
13. Should I double-check my medication before I leave the Pharmacy?
Yes. We encourage all patients to double-check their medications before leaving our Pharmacy Department. This is to ensure that all your medications are accounted for.
