The Choctaw Health Center’s Diabetes Clinic, part of the Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI), proudly hosted the Glow Walk for Diabetes this past weekend, and the event was a resounding success!

The community came together in full force to raise awareness about diabetes and promote healthy lifestyles. With vibrant decorations and participants lighting up the evening, the event transformed into a lively celebration of health, unity, and motivation.

Participants of all ages joined in, donning glow sticks and neon accessories, creating a colorful and festive atmosphere as they walked through designated paths. The Glow Walk aimed not only to raise awareness about diabetes but also to encourage active lifestyles within the community, emphasizing the importance of fitness and healthy habits.

The turnout exceeded expectations, with community members showing their support. "It was incredible to see so many faces come together for a common cause," said Sharron Thompson from Choctaw Health Center Diabetes Clinic. “Events like these remind us of the importance of community support in managing health and wellness.”

In addition to the walk, attendees had the chance to engage with health professionals, receive educational materials about diabetes management, and participate in fun activities designed to promote a healthy lifestyle.

The Glow Walk serves as a testament to the Choctaw Health Center’s commitment to improving health outcomes within the community. The success of this event reflects not just participation but a shared dedication to combating diabetes and fostering a healthier future for all.
